Introducing Mr. Ellie Pooh - paper made of what???

Global Gifts is pleased to introduce Mr. Ellie Pooh paper products. The name says it all. Mr. Ellie Pooh's 100% recycled paper products consist of 50% elephant dung and 50% post consumer paper.

Mr. Ellie Pooh products benefit Sri Lankan artisans by providing a market and fair wage for their hand made paper products. And it helps protect elephants. Sadly elephants are losing their habitat in Sri Lanka and they are entering villages looking for food. There they are often seen as a threat and killed.. But as artisans are able to use their dung as a source of income, more people in Sri Lanka have an interest in protecting them.

Sarongs with original designs from Blue Hand in Bali, Indonesia - $20.95. 

Blue Hand sarongs are 100% wash-and-dry rayon – there is no fading or shrinking or ironing.   The fabrics are created through the traditional Indonesian art of batiking.  This batiking process involves applying hot wax to the fabric, dyeing the fabric and finally boiling the wax off to reveal the image underneath.  The completed fabric dries in the sun.  Each color represents a dyeing and waxing process.  All is done by hand.  The name Blue Hand comes from the fact that artists who batik the sarongs hands are often blue from working with indigo dye.
