Global Gifts invites you to attend our ninth annual Helping Hands Festival. The Helping Hands Festival showcases handcrafts of groups in developing countries who need a market for their work. Local non-profit groups such as churches, service organizations, and others will represent participating artisans by selling the work of groups from Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and more. The day will also include internationally themed performances by local groups and student groups from local schools. International food will be available for purchase.
Helping Hands began in 2003 in response to the numerous requests Global Gifts staff receive each year, from individuals and church groups, to carry products made by artisan communities in need overseas. Because we limit our purchases to groups that are part of the Fair Trade Federation and the World Fair Trade organization and because it is not practical to carry products from so many groups, we were in a position where we had to decline. But through the Helping Hands Festival, we provide individuals connected with a church or nonprofit organization a venue where they can sell these products on behalf of developing world artisans.
